Today we organized a craft date for the girls in Kudunmo village. We thought the gifts would get their attention… but crochet did! We carried wool, crochet hooks, and samples to introduce the girls to the beautiful skill of crochet. To encourage them, we added gifts including exercise books, pencils, erasers, biscuits, snacks, and drinks. The girls were so interested in learning that they prioritized crocheting over snacks, placing their new educational materials aside to continue practicing. This excitement reminded us why we started: sometimes young girls need something they can learn, create, grow with, and use to create opportunities for themselves
Introduced girls to crochet and beadwork. Distributed exercise books, pens, sharpeners, erasers, food, and drinks.
